Maison Ulu Satu at golden hour, drone view of the terraced hillside villa.

Maison Ulu Satu — 6 suites

Six suites across four hillside levels.

Satu unfolds down the cliff like a series of considered rooms — each terrace finding its own view, each floor doing one thing well. Twelve guests, six suites (two pairs of which communicate), an infinity pool that reaches toward the horizon.

Inside Satu

Four levels. One unbroken view.

The villa is laid out across four cascading floors, set into the hillside so that every room finds its own framing of the southern Bukit. The main living level holds the kitchen, the dining table for twelve, and the lounge that opens onto the infinity pool. Above it: bedrooms, the gym, the cinema. Below: the spa and a quieter wing of bedrooms.

Ceilings are high. Air conditioning is silent. Ceiling fans turn slowly when you'd rather not run the AC. The architecture does what good tropical architecture should — it gets out of the way of the view.

Where you sleep

Six suites, each en-suite, each with a view.

All six suites are equally appointed, air-conditioned, en-suite, with a mix of queen and twin configurations. None is designated as a "master" — each finds its own framing of the hillside, and we'd rather you choose the one that suits you than have the layout choose for you.

Two pairs of suites communicate via internal doors — useful for families with children or for couples traveling together who want a shared antechamber. The remaining two suites are standalone.

Several suites include open-air bathtubs and outdoor showers — the kind of detail that turns a morning into a memory. Linens are crisp, beds are deep, towels are unreasonably good.

Configuration

  • Suites 1 & 2Standalone
  • Suites 3 & 4Communicating pair
  • Suites 5 & 6Communicating pair

Bed configurations (queen / twin) and outdoor-bath details confirmed at time of booking — we can swap several suites between configurations to match your group.

What you came for

Built for the hours that aren't dinner.

The gym at Satu with two reformer Pilates machines.

The gym, with two reformers

Two full reformer Pilates machines and a wide window onto the hillside — enough room for a couple to move at the same time, or a private session with an instructor.

The ice bath, set into the deck of Maison Ulu Satu.

Ice bath

Set into the deck on the lower level. Three minutes, full breath. Best done before breakfast or after a surf.

The cinema room at Satu.

Cinema room

Acoustic-treated, deep seating, premium sound system. The screen is large enough that the projector and the room agree on what it's doing.

The spa room at Satu, with bathtub and indoor shower.

Spa

A dedicated treatment room with an indoor shower and bathtub. Therapists on call through Bali Super Host — Balinese, lomi-lomi, deep tissue, prenatal.

Outside

The infinity pool, the long terrace, the cliffline beyond.

Satu's infinity pool runs along the edge of the main terrace — long enough for laps, deep enough for a serious swim, with the cliff line of the southern Bukit beyond.

Six loungers. Four sunbeds. Three pool umbrellas. A shaded outdoor lounge for the hot middle of the day, and a covered dining patio for breakfasts that don't want to be inside.

The table

Dining for twelve, breakfast for two.

The kitchen is fully equipped — induction, gas, two ovens, a wine fridge, the usual run of small appliances. It works equally well for a guest cooking pasta at midnight and for a private chef preparing a six-course tasting menu.

The dining table seats twelve comfortably, with two leaves at either end if your group spills above that. Breakfast tends to drift outdoors. Most dinners stay in.

If you'd like a private chef for part or all of your stay, Bali Super Host has three on rotation we work with — Balinese, French-leaning, plant-forward — all happy to plan a menu with you in advance.
